Horse fairsIn the Andalusian Fairs and Pilgrimages the horse serves to enhance festivities which celebrate friendship and the joy of living. Horses, whether ridden by horsemen and women riding side-saddle, or harnessed to impressive carriages, provide the most typical means of transport when making pilgrimages or attending fairs. They combine music, flamenco dancing, gastronomy, wine and costumes that are consonant with the true protagonist of the celebrations. Pilgrimages are parades, though festive, processions which are staged in natural settings and whose roots can be traced back to ancient fertility rites. We organise guided visits and tours to Fairs and pilgrimages. |
