Northwest of Seville, in the province of Huelva and near the Portuguese border we find The Nature Park Sierra Aracena. Today the region is famous for the production of “Iberian Ham” arguably the best ham in the world and certainly the most expensive; that is the finest cured jamon de Jabugo. The sierra is famous for its rearing of black Iberian pigs and these can be seen everywhere, particularly under holm oak trees where they search for the acorns that give the ham its distinctive quality. | ||

This a truly unforgettable gastronomic experience. The jabugo ham is considered by many as an authentic world-class delicacy. To make it more remarkable the tour passes through forests, mountains and areas of incomparable beauty with stunning views, where village life has remained virtually unchanged for centuries. We depart from Seville in the morning to the village of Jabugo in the heart of Sierra de Aracena. We will visit one of the famous producers of Jabugo ham, first we will see the farm, by audiovisual documentary where the thoroughbred Iberian pigs are reared and its installations learning the different and unique stages on the art of raising Iberian hogs and the process of ham production, then an expert will take us through the traditional curing methods overseen by the Ham Master. At the end of the visit you will be able to taste different qualities of hams and other products from the Iberian pig with magnificent wines. Iberian cured products are part of the healthy Mediterranean diet recommended by top doctors all over the world. | ||

After this exquisite experience we head for the lovely village of Aracena, before we have a gourmet lunch in the best restaurant in town, tasting typical products from the area like mushrooms, asparagus, ham, cheese etc with Spanish red wines. We will see its stunning caves with subterranean lakes. We arrive back in Seville around 6.00 pm.
