Tucked away deep in an olive country in Andalusia that borders the stunningly beautiful Parque Natural de las Sierras Sub-béticas lies a humble restored Finca, and this culinary adventure will take place right there.

This Andalusian farmhouse occupies an amazing setting surrounded by the breathtaking views: superb panorama of hillsides carpeted with mature olive trees rolling gently across the horizon as far as the eye can reach. The region is full of diverse history, and rich cultural heritage that the people here thrive to preserve. It will be a unique culinary experience - exploring some of the undiscovered jewels and a genuine flavour of Andalusia.

Cooking Sessions:
Your host chef has been a professional Chef specialising in the Mediterranean cuisine for over 20 years with distinguished careers in the United Kingdom. His passion for food and cooking led to launch his own cooking retreat in rural Andalusia with his wife Japanese in 2005. The fun-filled cooking session is casual, informative and very hands-on, usually based around the preparation of 3-course menu. His laid-back style and gentle nature will assist to increase your confidence in cooking and inspire your imagination.

The Finca, a 170 year old Finca is a cooking retreat located in a rural village just outside of Iznájar and has been tastefully restored to a high specification while retaining the charm and original rustic characters with plenty of cosy nooks and crannies for the guests to enjoy. Shying away from the showy extravagance, this country retreat offers a very intimate, homely, and peaceful ambiance.

Just enjoy by breathtaking views: unspoilt landscape of rolling hills carpeted with ancient olive trees, valleys covered with Almond blossoms, fields of wild coriander and wild asparagus... It is the place where real Andalusia can be found through an extraordinary culinary experience.

The cuisine of this region, the home of the world's finest olive oil, is characterized by its vibrant colours, rich aromas, and full of sensual and complex flavours, featuring the heavy use of olive oil. You will also have the pleasure of sampling seasonal menus with vegetables and herbs that are organically grown on the Finca's land or purchased directly from the local farmers. The freshest ingredients are carefully prepared to bring out their virtues - that is Andalusian cooking.

This culinary adventure is combined with excursions to some unique cities like Cordoba, Granada and the wine region of Montilla visiting and admiring unique monuments like the Mosque of Cordoba, The Alhambra of Granada, the incomparable Baroque Style of Priego de Cordoba. A visit to an olive mill will allow you to discover the best extra virgin olive oil in Spain as well as learning about the Montilla wine region by visiting one of reputable wine and sherry makers.

It is intended solely to enjoy a few days of cooking some sensational dishes that you have always wanted to see how it is done and to have a bit of fun among spectacular surroundings.

Day One - Arrival

Pick up at Granada or Málaga international airport or Antequera train station and transfer to this humble farmhouse in the heartland of Andalusia. Enjoy your welcome drinks and free time to settle in. Early evening you will have an opportunity to take a stroll around the village and the olive grove to enjoy the scenery and the fresh air. Later in the evening dinner of contemporary Andalusian cuisine will be served by your hosts at La Finca.


Day Two - Cordoba

After breakfast, you will travel through a delightful Andalusian countryside to visit one of the world's greatest architectural masterpieces, Mezquita in Córdoba where an English-speaking professional guide will lead you. You will find out about the varied history of different cultures - the Moors, Jews and Christians. You will also take a stroll around the World Heritage site, the Judería, or the old Jewish quarter. Lunch will take place at a popular tavern with a Moorish style patio offering some of the most celebrated regional cuisine. Return to La Finca in the late afternoon, refresh and attend your first hands-on cooking session with your host chef followed by dinner.


Day Three - Priego de Cordoba

After leisurely breakfast, you will visit an award-winning olive mill that produces one of the best extra virgin olive oil in the world to participate in olive oil tasting with a professional taster.

Later, we will visit Priego de Cordoba, an energetic and lively town known as the "Baroque Jewel" in Andalusia with its glorious Baroque architecture, national monuments and the stunning attractions.

After a gentle stroll in the narrow passageways of "Barrio de la Villa", or the Arab quarter, bedecked with a myriad of colourful flowers on the white-washed walls, you will stop at a typical Andalusian tapas bar for lunch with "fino". Back to La Finca, rest and into the kitchen for your final cooking session followed by dinner.


Day Four - Departure or Extension to Cordoba-Granada

Those leaving the tour will depart to the airport after breakfast.

The City of Granada is dominated by the snow-capped peaks of Sierra Nevada, is one of the greatest and most memorable destinations in Spain. We will visit with an expert another World Heritage site, the exquisite Moorish Alhambra Palace, and garden of Genelife. If you have got any energy left, you will have a chance to walk around the centre of Granada before settling in at a traditional Grenadian bar for a relaxing tapas lunch. We will return to La Finca to participate in another cooking session followed by dinner.


Day Five - Montilla

The leisurely day begins with a visit and tasting at one of the best-known producers of sherry wine founded in the 18th century in Montilla. Nobel Prize writer Cami­lo Jose Cela praised the wine from Montilla in his travel essays as "its quality is as good as its soil, so pure, so gold, so delicate and the taste is superior." In the late afternoon, you will enjoy a farewell cooking session followed by dinner.


Day Six - Free Day

Your final day could be spent lazily just relaxing and enjoying a surrounding nature or a gentle stroll around the village. Or an activity such as horse riding, spa, Arab baths can be arranged at an extra cost. Please enquire.

Activities that can be done in the area that are easily accessible within 1hr from the Finca are: Outdoor pursuit ,horse riding, golf, hiking, olive harvest experience, biking, quad biking; Health yoga, spa, Arab bath, Pilate; Hobbies, painting, bird-watching, wine tasting...


Day Seven - Departure

After breakfast transfer to Granada or Malaga international airport or Antequera train station.
