The city of Seville is renowned for its fascinating history and wealth of beautiful buildings, but most of all for its fine culinary tradition which is strongly influenced by its Moorish past. This short break will immerse you in the colors, flavors and textures of Andalusian cuisine.

Seville has an astonishing array of places to eat and drink and our tapas tour will reveal the very best as our guide introduces you to tapas culture. The next morning, Inspired by your first taste of Sevilla´s cuisine, you will explore the ancient streets, delving into some of Spain´s finest markets to choose fresh, local produce with the help of our experienced local chef. During a hands-on cooking class you will transform your ingredients into traditional Spanish dishes to be enjoyed on a terrace overlooking Sevilla´s famous cathedral. After lunch, a guided walking tour of the cathedral and historic quarters of the city will introduce you to the great buildings of Seville and the stories behind them.

Day One - Sevilla Tour

On your arrival in Seville we will meet you at either the airport or train station and escort you to your accommodation in a typical Sevillian hotel where you´ll have some time to yourself to relax before we begin our tapas tour.

Tapas are an essential part of Spanish city life and a very different experience to eating in a sit down restaurant. When going out, local people move from bar to bar eating and drinking standing up in a lively and informal atmosphere. This is the only way to get an authentic tapas experience. Our tapas tour guide is an expert on local gastronomy and will use their experience and local knowledge to show you to the best bars in town, within the Jewish quarter, the Barrio Santa Cruz.

You´ll sample a wide variety of meat, fish and vegetable tapas that may include typical delicacies such as calamares (fried squid rings), jamón iberico (thinly sliced cured ham with a delicious salty flavour) and patatas bravas (fried potato wedges in a spicy sauce) to name but a few. All to be accompanied by delicious local wines of course!

Day Two - Tour Seville

You will be collected from your hotel by our local chef who will take you to some of Sevilla´s famous food markets. You will learn about the huge variety of fresh produce available in the markets and specialized stalls stocking cheeses, fresh fish and shellfish, meat and charcuterie, game and even live snails. Our chef will show you how to find the best ingredients to be used in the day´s cooking class.

Ingredients purchased, you´ll head to our chefs private home where you´ll enjoy an aperitif. You will be given written copies of some typical Andalusian recipes. These could include Gazpacho, a deliciously refreshing tomato soup served cold and Moorish inspired dishes such as chicken cooked with almonds and saffron or seafood dishes such as whole fish cooked in a salt crust with lemon oil.

With the hard work out of the way you´ll enjoy your lunch on the terrace overlooking the historic quarter and Sevilla´s famous cathedral. Your meal will be accompanied by local red wine and fino sherry.

Having gazed on the old city from above, the day will end with a walking tour of the historic streets, the cathedral itself and its imposing Giralda tower. You will notice the influence of Moorish culture in the architecture as you walk around the city and our guide will tell you stories from Sevilla´s colorful history.

Day Three - Granada-Cordoba-Granada

By now we hope you will be well acquainted with Seville´s culinary culture and you can take away some recipes to share with friends and family.

Your will return to the train station or airport by private transfer.
